He's already forgotten his first love

Young love, how fickle it can be. We keep telling Jonathan not to get too serious at his age, and that when the time is right, when he gets much older, the right one will come along. He thought he was in love for a while there, he just couldn't stop dreaming about that perfect Mustang, and kept telling us we had to get one.

Then, he set his eyes on the 2010 Camaro. The Mustang is yesterday's news. We went to Mystic Lake Casino to have dinner at the buffet tonight, and as we were walking through the casino to get there, they had a Camaro on display. I think he left a trail of drool as we passed it.

We'll see how long this fascination lasts. My first car.....a 1965 Ford Galaxie, fire engine red with a hardtop. My parents got it for me in 1974. ( If I remember correctly, that was a long time ago)

  2. I had to give this flipping camaro a cavity search at an auto show yesterday to find the battery.

    It's under the spare tire.
This vehicle is also obnoxiously heavy, slow on braking, and ludicriously ill designed on the interior.

Gino beat me to it, The Dodge challenger is a much better car. The hood didn't cut my hand open when I opened it, there is more room under the hood to actually do work on it, and the interior, at least the pilot and co-pilot seats, are easily comparable to the Camry we drive as a family sedan. Back seat beats the stuffing out of the mustang's and camaro's too.

  3. Yeah, but it's pretty to look at; and there's no way on God's green earth that we'd ever buy him a brand new car. When he turns 16, in two more years, we'll buy him a 2000 camaro, or a challenger, and he can fix it up.

  4. If you want to dampen his ardor for sports cars, here's what you do:

    1. Measure how tall he sits. Measure how tall Dad sits.

    2. Compare with headroom stats of sports car.

That's enough to prevent me from wanting a Camaro, Mustang, or Corvette, at least. :^)
