Charles Woodson and the rest of the victorious Green Bay Packers would like you to know that the Stover-bashing lamp is lit.

Centuries of accumulated wisdom, along with our takes on sports, politics, religion, entertainment, current events---yada, yada, yada.
It was a nice win by Green Bay. That was the best defensive performance they've had against a legitimate opponent all season. Although, can a team coached by Wade Phillips be considered legit? Not so sure.
ReplyDeleteLegitimate is the key word. And yes, despite the frequently puzzled/clueless look that Wade Phillips often shows on the sidelines, just on talent alone the Cowboys are quite legit.
ReplyDeleteAs a Packer fan, all I ask is a chance to get into the playoffs. We may not get far, but if you're in you have a puncher's chance.
Mr. D., congrats to you and the rest of Packer Nation. The better team won today, and I stand duly humbled (at least for this week...)
ReplyDeleteMy C'boys looked pretty ineffective today, and you almost got your shutout. (I should check some entertainment gossip blogs to see if its time to whip out the 'Tony Romo + new hot blonde girlfriend = Cowboys meltdown' theory.)
Who knows? Maybe we'll get to dance again in January...
Oh, that was Tony Romo at QB for Dallas? Here I thought the Cowboys coaxed Babe Laufenberg out of retirement.
ReplyDeleteBabe Laufenberg? I was thinkin' Gary Hogeboom. Distinction without a difference, I s'pose.
ReplyDeleteI wept softly for Dan Stover last night. Poor guy. His cowboys done him wrong.
ReplyDeleteI'm still laughing at the performance Roy Williams threw out today, a regular reprise of the TO role. Beg for the ball, then drop it and under perform when you snag it.
ReplyDeleteI was thinkin' Gary Hogeboom.
ReplyDeleteSteve Pelluer?
Steve Pelluer?
ReplyDeleteMy goodness -- who knew the Cowboahs were such a treasure trove of bad quarterbacks? Let's not forget Quincy Carter while we're at it....
who knew the Cowboahs were such a treasure trove of bad quarterbacks?
ReplyDeleteLest we forget, they tried to resurrect Ryan Leaf's career in the early 2000s.
I think they also tried to resurrect Drew Henson, too. Then again, so did the Vikes.
ReplyDeleteSo can I assume the consensus opinion here is no longer that Aaron Rodgers is a loser?
ReplyDeleteI think they also tried to resurrect Drew Henson, too. Then again, so did the Vikes.
ReplyDeleteI believe Henson was invited to Vikings training camp but did not make the roster. However, Leaf not only made the Cowboys roster in 2001 but he also made three starts.
So can I assume the consensus opinion here is no longer that Aaron Rodgers is a loser?
Technically he is given his career record of 11-14.
So can I assume the consensus opinion here is no longer that Aaron Rodgers is a loser?
ReplyDeleteI didn't think he was a loser. He's very much a work in progress. I would bet this -- if Brad could trade Favre straight up for Rodgers right now, he would.
Stover, I still think he's a loser, but I'm a cranky sort. And it appears, in any event, that a loser can beat the Cowgirls and that's what's important.
ReplyDeleteif Brad could trade Favre straight up for Rodgers right now, he would.
ReplyDeleteYep! Even though Favre is having the better season thus far, he isn't likely to play more than another year or two. Rodgers will be very good (if not great) for many seasons to come.
