I just want to say one thing about the Vikings 3 point loss to the 'Aints' last Sunday night.
Brett was a warrior, and when he took the blame for the loss he was doing what great leaders do. But it wasn't his fault. He gave them a chance to win and if weren't for some bonehead who entered the huddle on 3rd down when we were on their 35 yard line.... The play they would have (should have) run was a dive to the center hash marks to give Longwell a 51 yard field goal chance to win with time running out. A kick he would have made 3 out of 4 times.
Don't retire coming off the best statistical season of your career. Tell your owner to get you right guard (Artis Hicks) who isn't the size of a dwarf and you'll be find for next year!
Thanks Brett, it was a great ride.

And fire Childress, no matter what the cost. At minimum, a coach needs to be responsible for clock management and the number of personnel on the field. With Favre he has been able to collect a paycheck for somebody else's work all season and he can't even do the basics that are left over like those two tasks.
ReplyDeleteWhoa!
ReplyDeleteI don't think we should throw in the towel and go into the rebuilding years yet. Losing the NFC in OT ain't nuthin to sneeze at...
But anything less than a Superbowl is unacceptable.
That being said, don't you think it would be prudent to keep Chilli for at least another year?
Childress will not be fired. He is signed thru 2013, which means the Wilfs would have pay him $15-$20 million to leave. Ain't gonna happen (nor should it, IMO).
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't Childress' fault for the 12 men on the field. It was a player thinking his 'package' had been called. Probably a tight end or a back-up running back.
ReplyDeleteUpon further resarch it was Childress' fault. He said he talked to 2 diff coaches about personal and told them 2 different things. Hey, as long as he's learning!
