This is actually good news, when you think about it

The couple spent $8,875,000 on an ocean-view villa on 1.5 acres with a swimming pool, spa and fountains, a real estate source familiar with the deal confirms. The Italian-style house has six fireplaces, five bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

Okay, let's get the obvious joke out of the way. Of course Al needs a house with nine bathrooms. Anyone as full of crap as Al needs multiple means of dealing with the issue. But the key part is this: the house is in Montecito, CA. According to the map, it's right on the ocean. I would have thought that Al, knowing that catastrophic climate change was going to raise the level of the oceans by hundreds of miles*, would have bought his oceanfront villa in Utah or something. Maybe the oceans aren't going to swallow up all of California after all!
The only way this would have been more fitting is if Gore had bought Bernie Madoff's old house. That would have really tied things up in a nice bow.

*Full disclosure: Al's actual prediction wasn't that the sea level would rise by hundreds of miles. I made that up. But that's okay, because the statistics Al uses are made up, too.
