Murray Warmath, RIP

The last successful Gophers football coach dies at 98. And the first dead pool call of 2011.

    Man, almost a quarter of the year gone before the first DP hit.

  2. Warmath has been ill for a very long time. It was an easy pick. It is surprising that it has taken that long, though -- this has been a year filled with death and bad things already and we're only at St. Patrick's Day.

  3. I was going to say don't forget sweet Lou! But I see even he had a losing record in MN 10-12. Although he did make it to a bowl game.

  4. I just looked and Glen Mason had a winning record and made it to 7 bowls in 10 years coaching at MN. The loss at his last bowl game (Insight) was the largest comback in history (in a bowl game?) and it cost him his job.
