Do you think there's an Englishmen alive today that knows there was actually a king named Edgar the Peaceable? If I'm not mistaken, his reign was sandwiched in between Geoffrey the Grumpy and Reginald the Irritable. Needless to say, the peasants must have been happy for the respite during old Edgar's peaceable reign.
