Anybody play tuba?
I pulled out the old clarinet yesterday and found, much to my surprise, that I could still play it after having seldom touched it for about 25 years.

Centuries of accumulated wisdom, along with our takes on sports, politics, religion, entertainment, current events---yada, yada, yada.
I play the trombone. Well, I used to. From time to time I'll pick it up and I can still knock out some scales, but the tone resembles a fog horn.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the joke that was posted on Mitch's blog yesterday:
ReplyDeleteQ. What is the definition of irrational optimism?
A. A trombone player with a pager.
I still have my old trumpet.
ReplyDeleteI play piano. Not well, but I do play.
ReplyDeleteGrumpy Old Band?
ReplyDeleteI'll be the manager, embezzle all the funds, then skip town and settle somewhere in Tahiti.
ReplyDeleteDeathtongue it is, then. Or "Davey and the Boingers" or something like that.
ReplyDeleteI prefer "Gino and the Pacemakers."
ReplyDeleteAhhh, a fellow Bloom County fan. In my opinion, that was the greatest comic strip ever. I loved Bill the Cat, our favorite defect(or).
ReplyDeletereal men dont play clarinet. we'll have to get you a drum, or something...
ReplyDeletegino and the pacemakers? lol
scratch that.
ReplyDeletewe need to get that man a bagpipe.
bagpipes are cool.
and grumpy,too.
I'm cool with "Gino and the Pacemakers." I even have overalls.
ReplyDeleteI might know a thing or two about pacemakers.
ReplyDeleteIt's not exactly rocket science.
And I can tell you this, designing vertical missile launchers is not exactly brain surgery.
I could do vocals and "help" KD with the funds... heh heh heh...
*fade to sandy beach*
Per Gino's comment; who ever heard of a girl wearing lederhosen in an oompah band to play the clarinet polka? Yeesh. :^)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, ya know what ya call people who hang out with musicians?
No, not groupies. Drummers. :^)
ooooh, i like that. :)
ReplyDeleteand besides, on overnights, the drummers always had the best medicines.
