NFL Commissioner McCarthy Goodell weighs in on Limbaugh bid

With NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell weighing in on Rush Limbaugh's interest in purchasing the NFL's St. Louis Rams, Hugh Hewitt observes that the Commish appears to be morphing into a modern day Jospeh McCarthy. Hewitt queries "When does the NFL Commissioner appear in front of cameras to declare he holds in his hand a list of conservatives who cannot have anything to do with the NFL?"

I was particualrly struck by this piece of commentary by Goodell:

"I've said many times before we're all held to a high standard here, and I think divisive comments are not what the NFL is all about," Goodell said at an NFL owners' meeting.

So is the NFL all about ignoring the outcries of the Native American community? It seems to me they still, to this day, find the nickname "Redskins" rather offensive, not to mention divisive.

  1. Rush should buy the Redskins from Dan Snyder (yet another pillar of society) and rename them the Washington Goodells. Solves all the problems at once.
