beating last year's champion doesnt necessarily count for much, i understand that. but if it had been the favres that beat the steelers, i'm sure the desire to cock strut would be a little hard to maintain... not that you would fail at maintaining, of course.
looks like we'll be second place after monday nite. what say you?
I can only speak for myself: I am a professional cynic when it comes to my favorite NFL team. No matter how impressively they win, I can always find a flaw. So if we had beaten the Steelers like the Bears had, I would have pointed out how lucky we were that Jeff Reed missed a couple of field goals.
was it luck? i chalk it up to the Bears special teams rushing the kick. it's not a coincidence. there have been at least four missed kicks against the bears, in just three games. and the first kick (Olindo did make it) was tipped. that has to work on a kicker's head.
i try not to get my hopes up too high, but when my team does well, i'm happy.
