President Obama, following the terrorist massacre at Fort Hood: "We don't know all the answers yet and I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts."
So what's the difference between the two situations? In the former, few details about the incident were yet available when Obama made his decree. In the latter, we know the shooter, Maj. Nidal Hasan, had a history of anti-Americanism, had or sought ties with Al Qaeda, and shouted "Allahu Akbar" right before he started spraying bullets.
As more details come out about Hasan, Obama is still unwilling to acknowledge the Fort Hood shooting for what it is: the first terror attack on American soil since 9/11.
Maybe we can at least agree that Hasan acted stupidly? Or maybe Obama will host a beer summit with Hasan and the victims' families.
